An hour-long special aimed at raising awareness and encouraging the American public to get vaccinated to end the COVID-19 pandemic will air on Sunday, April 18 at 7 p.m. ET. Walgreens announced that NBC will televise a vaccination special called Roll Up Your Sleeves. According to details, former first lady Michelle Obama, Lin-Manuel Miranda—and a few additional friends—will appear on the special to educate and empower audiences to make the important decision of getting vaccinated, to help put the pandemic behind us.

Audiences can expect to see comedy acts, view informative packages, hear captivating real-life stories, and observe heartwarming surprises. Walgreens is a presenting sponsor of Roll Up Your Sleeves.

“Bringing together trusted voices, including celebrities, community leaders and our pharmacists, we can help answer questions and dispel myths surrounding vaccinations and ensure that the U.S. emerges from this very challenging time as quickly as possible,” said Roz Brewer, CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance.

Additionally, Matthew McConaughey will reportedly interview Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Chief Medical Adviser to President Joe Biden. Viewers will hear from Dr. Fauci on separating fact from fiction regarding the vaccines and urging all Americans to do their part in getting the vaccine when eligible.

Jen Neal, executive vice president, Live Events, Specials and E! News, stated that “The entertainment, comedic and music communities, along with First Lady Michelle Obama, have come together for the special, which will be inspirational, poignant and, at times, humorous. The overriding message: get vaccinated, end the pandemic and get your life and the life of the country back on track.”

On Instagram, Obama has already been promoting the importance of getting vaccinated. She appears in a photo, looking straight ahead, while wearing a sleeveless t-shirt. Gloved hands are holding a needle near her arm.

“When you can get the COVID-19 vaccine, I hope you do—Barack and I are certainly glad we did. It’s our best shot at beating this virus, looking out for one another, and getting back to some of the things we miss. Getting vaccinated will save lives—and that life could be yours,” Obama said in a posted message.
